Tidy up the rear end of your Prado with the Stealth License Plate Bracket Kit from D3D. The factory license plate mount is comically oversized for our relatively small Australian plates and we got sick of the eyesore, which is why D3D has created this much sleeker and stealthier option.
The Stealth License Plate Bracket is designed specifically for Australian license plate measurements and it's a direct swap, mounting up to the existing holes in the tailgate with no drilling or cutting required. Our design uses foam pads on both sides of the Bracket to protect your paint and reduce vibration, and comes with all the hardware you need for installation, as well as an Upper Trim Panel for above the Bracket to make the installation as seamless as possible. This kit also includes two Paintable Plugs for the lower holes left exposed when removing the factory plate mount, making for an even tidier installation (if you have a full height license plate like the one shown in the product photos, the plugs won't be visible and there's no need to paint them).
We offer this kit with the Upper Trim Panel painted in Matte Textured Black, or unpainted in Satin Black depending on your preference. The unpainted version is still UV resistant thanks to the outdoor-grade material we use to produce it, so painting isn't essential. You can see a comparison between the two finishes in the last gallery image.
Included in this kit:
- Stealth License Plate Bracket with hardware
- Upper Trim Panel with hardware (either Satin or Matte Black finish)
- 2x Paintable Plugs
- Foam Pad (optional)

Great product. Easy to fit. Looks
100 times better than the original 120 box.
Cleans the back end up nice and replaced my rattling bracket with broken clips. Its the small things that count.
Fits perfect and looks great, highly recommend to any 120 owner as it tidys up the rear end perfectly. Great detailed instructions too.

Part of my preparation for a big trip included fitting a D3D licence plate bracket, mostly because I never wanted to mess with my tailgate after fitting a table to it. So, I got all the jobs done in one go. Biggest mistake ever.
I had done approximately 35km before the big trip, all on sealed roads. On the day of packing, I noticed that my licence plate was undone on one side, and when I attempted to tighten the screw, it just turned continually. I proceeded to remove the plate to investigate and found that the plastic has cracked around both screw holes.
This was mere hours before a very big trip. I would have lost my plate and messed up everything. A trip that took months of planning! I was forced to attach my plate with doubled sided tape to the top section (Thank heavens for 3M)
In short, horrible product. D3D should never make 4x4 products if they think that hollow fill is appropriate on a car part, let alone something that will take a beating on rough roads and corrugations. The designer should be fired. Avoid at all costs!!
Hi Yusuf,
Sorry that you've had this issue with your order. I have sold a couple hundred of these brackets to date between the 90 and 120 Series and this is the first time I've seen this issue, so it looks like a defective unit to me. I have processed a refund for your order and will get in touch via email to get some more info. I will also contact other customers who purchased at a similar time to you in case it is a batch problem from that particular week. The semi-hollow nature of the bracket is deliberate - if it were solid, the likelihood of warping increases during heat cycles, which actually makes the part more likely to crack. Apologies again, I will get in touch to narrow down the cause of the problem.
