Single DIN Cubby Lid Kit for Subaru Forester SF (1997-2002, 1st Gen)

If you're looking for a solution like our High-Mount Double DIN Head Unit Kit but you want to leave your centre air vents unmodified, this Single DIN Cubby Lid Kit is ideal for you. This is also a great upgrade for SF owners with a cracked factory cubby lid. The factory radio location in the SF Forester is very low by modern standards, and the high positioning of the head unit with this kit allows for easy viewing and less distraction from the road.

Fitment of this kit is straightforward and includes all the hardware you need for installation. You will need to cut a small hole in the lower shell of the factory cubby to pass through the wiring to your head unit, and there are also two holes to drill into the factory cubby/dashboard to mount it securely. All of this is covered in our simple instruction sheet. All you'll need is your head unit of choice and the required wiring to connect it to your Forester's factory harness. This kit is designed to be used with a 'floating' single DIN Head Unit like the one shown in our product images, a pop-out style single DIN touchscreen or a low-profile single DIN touchscreen.

Designed in-house, you can have confidence in correct fitment. We make them from a fibreglass-reinforced, UV-resistant plastic with a colour and surface finish that blends in very well with the surrounding dashboard. This kit also includes a mini bit wrench to assist with installation, as it is a tight space to work in.

Please note: Normally, a wiring adapter like the Aerpro APP090 will have enough length to reach the head unit when fitted using this kit. However, depending on the wiring and head unit you use, you may need to extend some sections of the wiring harness for it to reach.
